Minimalist Inspiration

In case you missed our feature on Magnolia Rougue, here are some of the images from a minimalist styled shoot I participated in earlier this year. Sara's styling of this shoot was so beautiful, and simplifying all the details really made the florals stand out so much. I love everything about this inspiration.

Nieves + Terry Malibu Wedding 2016

I know I've been writing a lot about weekend weddings, but I've been encountering them more lately, and I'm a huge fan! This couple rented a house in Malibu and invited their close family for an intimate wedding ceremony and weekend stay that consisted of a 12 person guest list. It was pouring down rain (and I mean buckets...my car was sliding on my way to drop off the flowers!) situated on top of a beautiful hill overlooking the ocean and canyon.

Location is everything for your wedding, and even though it was a small guest list, they still wanted all the details to matter...from the flowers and location to the cake and invitations, and everything in between. They had the best attitudes about the rain, and 15 minutes before vows were exchanged, the skies dried up, and they got their dream ceremony. Another wedding weekend done right.

At the end of the day...at the end of the weekend, you are married, and you were surrounded by the people you loved most, and those are the memories you will cherish and remember. I don't think rain is a bad thing on your wedding day. It rained on my wedding day in the morning. And I think it makes for lovely photos, and a beautiful mood. And I think it heightens our senses and we remember more in the end...because for some reason, rain does not blur things.
